Eastland is set to move forwards with plans submitted to Maroondah council late last year for a new 10 storey tower next to the station located at 110 Maroondah Highway. Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) have said the tower as part of the centre’s long-term vision for “a vibrant mixed-use town centre for our community”.

“This proposed development aims to provide exceptional commercial space with 360-degree views of the Yarra Valley and surrounds, complementing the fantastic retail, lifestyle and hotel offering already available at Eastland,”

Details are currently scarce on what this building will include, however the artist impressions of “EastCo” show shops on the ground level and three layers of gardens on the tower’s exterior, followed by offices.
The block was originally sold to QIC for a reported $3.2 Million in 2015 which was well under some of the real estate valuations at the time of $10 Million.

Eastland has also commenced the improvement of the town square dining area with construction of outdoor covered dining that will include ‘stylish mirror canopies’ and is due to complete in Spring 2019.
